Under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah preserve him, the kingdom of Morocco hosts, from 2 to 9 May 2018, and on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay El Hassan, the Gymnasiade, the world’s largest school sport event.
Organizing the Gymnasiade for the first time in Africa is a strong sign of the International School Sport Federation (IFS) confidence and faith in the Moroccan leadership, its capacity to organize and host large sport events, as well as in the potential of Africa and its youth.
We are delighted to welcome middle school and high school athletes from around the world in two cities: Casablanca and Marrakech. These cities not only represent perfectly the diversity and cultural richness of the kingdom of Morocco, its civilization and history, they likewise illustrate the Moroccan dynamism and its openness to the world.
The Gymnasiade is a framework for competition, challenges, and performances. But don’t forget that it is also an opportunity for sharing, for exchanges and for mutual learning, all while discovering the beauty of living together harmoniously as well as the Moroccan art of life.
Thank you for answering the call and being among us today, and welcome to the kingdom of Morocco.
